Q: Is EMS safe?
As with conventional training, there are contra-indications
to physical exercise. A pre screening medical questionnaire and blood pressure reading will be completed at initial session.EMS is not recommended for anyone who:
● has a pacemaker or other electrical implant
● has an acute illness, such as fever, viral infection or acute inflammatory disease
● pregnant – pre/post natal
The EMS machines are completely safe. Miha Bodytec manufacture the machines, they are a German company and the market leaders – all of their EMS machines have gone through the most rigorous of safety checks and meet all German and EU guidelines for medical devices. Q: What does EMS training feel like?
EMS training feels likes a tingle, this can be adjusted at
any time throughout the session. The workout is intense on your muscles so you will feel tired after the workout, following with some muscle ache after a couple of days. This just means you’ve worked out, and should ease with more workouts.
Q: What do the experts say?
Studies have found that both trained and untrained
participants achieve visible and tangible results in a short period of time. Results include muscle-building and the increase in athlete’s speed, due to the fast twitching (FT) muscle fibres being activated first by the external impulse. Results also showed that EMS worked for targeted areas such as the stomach or back, especially for reduction of back pain. Furthermore studies showed that EMS – unlike conventional training – puts no stress on the joints.

Q: How often should I do EMS training?
BeFit BeYou recommends once a week, as it is extremely demanding on your body and your muscles require time to recover.
However if required a 4 day recovery is a must if an additional workout is required. This ideal for designed for multiple sessions per week to aggressively target fat and cellulite and works as a supplement to progressively advance your results.
Q: Can I continue my normal workout routine?
Absolutely. EMS training requires 4 days recovery between
each session. A variety of Cardiovascular training is recommended with a workout plan advised at each session.
